Module 1: Brain Health Basics: Practical Neuroscience for Fitness Professionals
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Define brain health and describe its major domains of cognitive function. Explain neuroplasticity and cognitive reserve in terms clients and class members can understand.
Tell the difference between normal cognitive aging, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia, and why that distinction matters in a fitness setting.

Â
Module 2: Exercise and Brain Health: The Science Behind Movement and Cognitive Performance
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Explain how exercise changes brain structure and function over time. Weigh the current evidence on exercise and cognitive health across different life stages.
Know which exercise types- aerobic, resistance, balance, or multimodal- offer the strongest cognitive benefits and why.
Turn evidence-informed exercise recommendations into real class or session content. Build programming that delivers physical and cognitive benefits at the same time.
Â
Module 3: Dual-Task Training: Applying Brain Health Science in Exercise Programming
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Define dual-task training and its place in functional performance and brain health. Distinguish physical, cognitive, and dual-task exercise from one another.
Choose cognitive tasks that pair well with movement-based exercise. Create dual-task activities suited to different settings and participant abilities.
Scale dual-task exercises up or down based on a participant’s goals, cognitive ability, balance, and mobility. Bring dual-task programming into everyday sessions to improve function and keep participants engaged.

Annette Dal Sasso
Excellent workshop. I may have been teaching for years but I always learn something else – new or something where I can improve my coaching technique. So thank you very much.
Vanessa Roe
You give so much of yourself to the courses and workouts you put together. If you are a beginner or advanced instructor or participant, you are in safe hands. I could ask you anything and not feel embarrassed, as you have a way with people that allows them to be comfortable.
Whenever I do one of your courses is like being with kindred spirits, and I always feel a buzz of excitement for those starting their fitness journey that they found you!! The presenters for your courses are literally world-class!!
After 13 years instructing across Pilates, boxing, step aerobic dance and strength training, I always come away with new ideas or updates on techniques.
