Acknowledging Success: A Journey of Worthiness
I’m honoured to share my recent induction into the AUSactive Roll of Honour. While this recognition holds immense significance, I must admit that acknowledging what this award truly means to me has been a challenging but worthwhile process. In light of this, I thought it would be valuable to share some tips on overcoming and understanding your merits.
Reflect on Your Journey
Take a moment to reflect on your own journey. Recognise the challenges, victories, and growth. Acknowledge the path that has led you to your current success.Â
Celebrate Personal and Professional Growth
Three decades in the fitness industry have shaped me. From international recognition to co-founding ventures, it’s been a diverse and fulfilling ride. Acknowledge your growth, both personally and professionally. Each milestone, whether big or small, is a testament to your dedication and resilience.
Find Motivation in Personal Struggles
Motivation is deeply personal. My struggles fueled a passion for helping others. Find what drives you, what makes your heart beat faster! Use those challenges as fuel to propel you forward. It’s in overcoming obstacles that we often find the most profound motivation.
Embrace Adaptability and Learn from Setbacks
Success often comes from being adaptable. Embrace change, innovate, and be open to new possibilities. Your ability to adapt is a strength that can lead to continued success. Collaborating with others broadens your skill set but also introduces fresh approaches, making you more flexible to the ever-changing landscape of the fitness industry.Â
Adaptability involves learning from setbacks. Every challenge is an opportunity for growth. Instead of viewing obstacles as roadblocks, see them as stepping stones to improvement. Reflect on what went wrong, adjust your approach, and return stronger.
Build Inclusive Communities
Community is the heartbeat of fitness. As I’ve shifted to virtual classes, I’ve witnessed the power of a global fitness community. Build communities where everyone feels safe and empowered. Acknowledge the impact you have on creating space for everyone. Success is even more meaningful when shared with a diverse and supportive community.
As you embrace your passion and navigate the evolving fitness landscape, remember. Adapt, build communities, and never stop learning. Your journey is a story of privilege, passion, and dedication. It takes hard work, resilience, and a willingness to recognise your worthiness.
Thank you for joining me on this reflective journey.
