Always be prepared to learn something new
Teaching is a profession that is full of surprises. As instructors, we know that the best way to prepare for the unexpected is to go in with as much knowledge as possible. It’s one of the reasons why you’re probably reading this now.
Ways to improve your teaching skills
There’s always room for improvement when it comes to teaching. Here are some quick tips to help you be the teacher you’ve always known you could be.
Developing your skills is a lifelong process. You can never stop learning about how to be a better educator. Even if you think you know everything there is to know about teaching, there is always something new that can be learned from your students or from other teachers. You may not even realise that there is still so much more to learn until you get feedback from a peer or a participant, and then it can hit you hard. Clawing back your confidence after a situation like this can be challenging. But the good news is that you are not alone! Everyone goes through this phase and has to work through it. The important thing is to keep going and keep learning and always have the mindset of a student.
Every class is an opportunity to grow
Each class you teach is an opportunity to learn and improve. Every time we teach something new or bring our knowledge back into practice, we are gaining valuable insights on how best to prepare our students for success in the future.
As a group fitness instructor, I’m always looking for new ways to improve my skills. One of the best ways I’ve found is to attend conferences and workshops that focus on group fitness. I know that I am one of the thousands of people in the same shoes who are looking for ways to improve our craft and help our participants achieve their goals.
Workshops and conferences are one of the best ways to learn from others who are experts in their field. Whether it’s an in-person or virtual event, this kind of educational experience can help you to avoid making common mistakes and can help you to be more effective and innovative in your work.

Learning is a life time activity. No matter what your passion there is always something new to learn. I love workshops live/virtual. The chance to learn from experts in their fields imparting their knowledge that I can then relay to my participants is invaluable. The interaction with other instructors makes the world a smaller place and enhances the learning experience. Thank you
