Always be prepared to learn something new.
Teaching is a profession that is full of surprises. As instructors, we know the best way to prepare for the unexpected is to go in with as much knowledge as possible. It’s one of the reasons why you’re probably reading this now.
Ways to improve your teaching skills
There’s always room for improvement when it comes to teaching. Here are some quick tips to help you be the teacher you’ve always known you could be.
Developing your skills is a lifelong process. You can never stop learning about how to be a better educator. Teaching is endless learning; even with expertise, there’s always something new to learn from students or fellow educators. You may not even realise there is still so much more to learn until you get feedback from a peer or a participant, which can hit you hard. Clawing back your confidence after a situation like this can be challenging. But the good news is that you are not alone! Everyone goes through this phase and has to work through it. The important thing is to keep going and keep learning and always have the mindset of a student.
Every class is an opportunity to grow.
Teaching offers chances to learn and grow, as each class brings insights for better student preparation.
As a group fitness instructor, I always seek new ways to improve my skills. One of the best ways I’ve found is to attend conferences and workshops focusing on group fitness. I know I am among the thousands of people in the same shoes, looking for ways to improve our craft and help our participants achieve their goals.
Conferences and workshops provide valuable learning opportunities from experts, helping you avoid mistakes and be more innovative.

Learning is a life time activity. No matter what your passion there is always something new to learn. I love workshops live/virtual. The chance to learn from experts in their fields imparting their knowledge that I can then relay to my participants is invaluable. The interaction with other instructors makes the world a smaller place and enhances the learning experience. Thank you
