This month my admiration and respect goes to a presenter and author of a fantastic book titled The Interactive Instructor.
Kris Tynan is a New Zealand presenter with years of experience in the fitness industry. I was given this book recently in Auckland by another fantastic Kiwi, Broni McSweeny who said that I ‘must read this book’. She was absolutely right.
So what is so good about this book? – it is specific and appropriate for how to communicate and interact with clients and customers in the fitness industry. This is not a generic book, in fact, her descriptions of different instructor types is so accurate, that I found myself smiling as I recognised not only myself, but other instructors that I work with and observe. Though it is written with the gym instructor or personal trainer in mind, all group exercise instructors would get lots of great tips from it.
I have personally started using some of the strategies in the book and it has proven to be effective and very rewarding.
Thank you Kris for writing such a thought provoking and user friendly book. Thanks Broni for giving this to me – it was worth every minute I spent reading it.
If you would like to contact Kris to purchase this book, you can email her via www.interactiveskillstraining.com or www.interactiveinstructor.org
