Gymstick feedback
"Although I was sick & spent a few days in hospital the week before, I loved the workshop and have used the Gymstick in several PT sessions! Initially I would get the "what the hell are you going to do with that thing?!" look, but they are always surprised how hard it is and what I could do with it. I have also included the Gymstick in programs and we are getting a few requests for a class, so I might come and do another workshop soon!" ~Darren Thompson YMCA Wonthaggi

Fit For Good
In late 2010, Lisa Champion, a director of Australian Fitness Network, came up with the idea of creating a charity organisation for the fitness industry. The goal of Fit for Good is twofold – to encourage the fitness industry to reach out to Australians in need with the passion, energy and enthusiasm for health and fitness that is our trademark, and to inspire the helping community to embrace the power of exercise as a means by which people with mental health problems, drug and alcohol addictions, depression and anxiety can feel healthier and better about themselves.
This is something I truly believe in and I hope you too will support this fabulous work!

'I control it, it doesn't control me' by Jodie Mastersson
I wanted to do some study that would help with my illness (Rheumatoid Arthritis) and something that I could utilise to help others. Making the decision to become an Aqua Instructor was made easier after a Leader's Update I attended at Arthritis SA.
I have been volunteering to Arthritis SA for about 7 years, helping people to live with a chronic illness through their Moving Towards Wellness courses and I decided that there must be more I could do. During that particular update a comment was made about volunteers, exercise and specifically in water. From that day, it confirmed what I had been thinking – I am going to become a Fitness Instructor.

Testimonial of the month - Kate Tempany
First impressions count for a lot.
It was a sunny spring afternoon at Northcote YMCA in 1992. I was upstairs waiting to enter the Group Fitness Room, about to try a class of Step which I had not previously attended. Noticing that the instructor was also teaching the preceding class, I peeped in to see who she was. I almost tumbled back down the stairs in surprise.. The visual equivalent of a trumpet blast, she was gorgeous, exotic, radiating a swaggering cool and composure that seemed more likely to have originated on the streets of New York than in the sleepy Greek-Italian suburb which Northcote was in those days. In an era when the lycra leotard- bike shorts combination was the order of the day, this diva had attired herself in denim short shorts and some sort of plunging crop top with a diamante trim, discarding the banal regulation instructor belt for a studded leather one which completed the impression that she was about to star in a dance video.

Feedback from Feb course
"Thanks for the fantastic course over the past couple of days. I am so glad it was able to go ahead this time and believe I got a great deal out of it. It was great to be able to talk to and meet other coordinators in similar situations. Both you and Ange have a fantastic way of presenting that makes all content so interesting and keep the participants engaged throughout the whole workshop. Rather than looking at my watch to see when it would be finished (like I have done in workshops by other presenters) it was quite disappointing when it finished!!"
