Workshops & Masterclasses - Hi/Lo
|
How to REALLY teach group exercise |
|
What is the difference between an instructor and a great teacher?
Presentation…No
Experience…No
Number of weekly classes or participants…No
The fact is, it is how an instructor can effectively get a group of people to do exactly what they want them to do, regardless of skill or fitness level. This workshop will educate you on learning curves and methods that you can use to shift your teaching skills to a higher level. These tools will not only be appropriate for group exercise but for any learning environment that requires movement skills.

Hi/Lo as we used to know it has changed
from basic hard core moves like flick kicks and jacks to dance influenced mambo
chasses and spins. How do you blend them together to get the ideal mix of non
repetitive high energy moves and dance. With smooth transitions and solid
learning curves, Hyper is that blend of creativity and energy

Layering is one of the
most effective tools an instructor can use to modify, and intensify
choreography. Marietta
will demonstrate in a master class creative layering ideas to suit any class
level. This will be a valuable opportunity for instructors to see how
choreography can be effectively taught without interrupting class flow or
intensity. A must for any instructor who struggles to get to "the end
product".

Leap, Bound and Ball Change |
|
Leap to cardiovascular intensity
Bound through interesting choreography
And add a ball change to spice it all up.
This session will demonstrate how to create
layers of intensity and interest with rhythm, direction and levels of impact.
Starting with standard base moves, Marietta
will demonstrate how each layer is built using logical and clear learning
curves. Not for the faint hearted, but perfect for those who want to add more
bounce into their workouts.
|
|
|
Add bounce to your choreography and create
the third dimension. Using progressive teaching methods, Marietta will demonstrate how to layer basic
movements to develop dynamic and interesting choreography. Experience the
intensity that can be created with rhythm and leaps that will take your hi/lo
to another cardiovascular level. This session will ensure that your
participants leave your classes flushed, sweaty and smiling.
Aims and Objectives
